Originally, the pen and ink squids were a means of creating a self-portrait since I’m kinda against realistic, representative portraiture. There’s just too much superstition (and the fact that I’m not at all photogenic) in me to accept that form of portrait. They have since evolved into a webcomic, …quixotic or not, staring a squid in various situations. There are times that the Squid does not appear, but, since I am the squid (koo koo katchoo), the Squid is always there peripherally.
